Bid to help poor families By NG SI HOOI

KUALA LUMPUR: Councillors should go to the ground and identify families whose household incomes are below the poverty line, said Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting.

He said the families were entitled to financial assistance under the Urban Poverty Scheme introduced by the ministry last year.

“You should bring cases of families or single mothers who are in need of financial assistance to the ministry as we have the scheme to help them.

“You should carry out house-to-house visits in your area such as the low-cost flats." STAR report.

Yes, Zorro. I have retreated into my prayer closet.

I am deeply sadden by the overzealous show of force by the authorities but know that somehow the fellowship of the bloggers need to continue in the midst of all this fear and terrible inflictions.

You need to be the beacon to guide us over these treacherous undercurrents of oppression and evil.

I pray that we will not see the frightful May 13 play out again. It was a terrible nightmare to witness as a child. By God's grace and mercy, may the truth prevail and set us free and heal our land.

Please join us in 40 days of fasting and prayer for our beloved nation.
